History of my name + a branding tip

“Hey Chef!”

I think I hear that more than “hey Asaf” these days.

And you know what? I don’t mind one bit.

In fact, I love it.

Brand Chef is more than a nickname… it’s branding at work. And for me, it’s worked incredibly well.

Why?

🌶️ It instantly makes sense.

I’m able to say that I’m a brand strategist without saying “I am a brand strategist” (boring, right?).

🌶️ It differentiates me.

There are a lot of brand strategists. A lot of designers.

The “Brand Chef” concept stands out.

🌶️ It feels authentic.

I love food, cooking for my family, and exploring new recipes.

So when I get called Chef, I never get that cringy feeling that comes with inauthenticity.

Like a great recipe… if you cheap out on any of these ingredients, you’ll get a bland result.

❓ So here are 3 questions to ask yourself, immediately:

1: Is my brand instantly understandable?
2: Is my brand instantly memorable (among a sea of competitors)?
3: Does my brand feel authentic?

If the answer is “no” to one or more of these questions, I have something for you.

Arthur and I are hosting a “Category Clinic” on Monday, March 17th at 9am - 11am. It’s at the Huntington Loft.

For just $25, you’ll leave clarifying three important things about your brand:

❓ Who you are. 👥 Who you serve. 💩 Why they should give a shit.
